Reception follows the Cambridge International Curriculum. Kindergarten and Pre-Reception follow a developmental Early Years programme that prepares children for this next stage.

Your Early Years questions, answered.

Kindergarten is for ages 3–4, Pre-Reception for ages 4–5 and Reception for ages 5–6. Contact admissions to confirm the appropriate entry class under the school’s age requirements.

The published 2026/27 standard day for Kindergarten and Preschool is 07:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, from September to July. Optional paid provision runs until 17:30; please confirm availability and the arrangement for your child. See our school hours guide for details.

Hot lunch is an optional extra, available on request. School bus transport is available from age 4. Please ask admissions about current routes, availability, meal arrangements and charges.

Play and teacher-guided activities develop language, early literacy, numeracy and independence. The 2026/27 Parent Handbook states that Cambridge begins in Reception; younger children follow a developmental Early Years programme.
